Product Description

The 9ml Sodium Heparin Tube is designed for precise blood collection, ensuring sample integrity for clinical chemistry and hematology tests. Pre-filled with sodium heparin anticoagulant, it prevents clotting while maintaining cell morphology. Ideal for plasma separation, it features a safety cap, clear labeling, and consistent vacuum pressure.

It is suitable for red blood cell fragility tests, blood gas analysis, hematocrit tests, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and general biochemical determination, but not for blood coagulation tests. Excessive heparin can cause the aggregation of white blood cells and cannot be used for white blood cell counts.

It is also not suitable for leukocyte classification because it can stain the blood film with a light blue background. It can be used for blood rheology. The sample type is plasma. Immediately after blood collection, invert and mix 5-8 times, and take the upper plasma for use.

What is a Heparin Tube?

A Heparin Tube is a type of blood sample collection tube that contains heparin, an anticoagulant. It is used to prevent the clotting of blood in the sample. Heparin tubes are also sometimes called vacutainer tubes.

How does the sodium heparin tube work for blood collection?

A sodium heparin tube is a type of blood collection tube that contains a high concentration of sodium heparin, an anticoagulant. Sodium heparin prevents the blood sample from clotting and allows it to flow through the tube and into the collection vial. The vial is then sent to the laboratory for analysis.

What is a sodium heparin tube used for?

The 9ml Sodium Heparin Tube is used for blood collection in clinical tests requiring plasma samples. Sodium heparin prevents clotting while preserving blood cell structure, making it ideal for electrolyte, chemistry, and hematology analyses.

How does the tube prevent blood clotting?

The tube contains a pre-measured sodium heparin coating, which inhibits clotting factors. When blood is drawn, heparin binds to thrombin, ensuring a stable plasma sample for lab analysis.

What is the difference between sodium heparin and EDTA tubes?

Sodium heparin tubes prevent clotting while preserving cell morphology for plasma tests (e.g., electrolytes). EDTA tubes are used for hematology tests (CBC) but chelate calcium, making them unsuitable for chemistry assays.

Can heparin tubes be reused?

No, they are single-use only. Reuse risks contamination, inaccurate results, and biohazard exposure. Always discard after blood collection.

Our main products are blood collection tubes, virus sampling tubes, blood collection needles, and sanitizers, Safety Syringe, PRP Tube.
